The heraldic bearings displayed below represent the principal dynastic, sovereign, and religious inheritances recognized by the Brunswick Grand Commandery. These arms express continuity of mission, historical succession, and Christian chivalric identity.
Angevin Coat of Arms
This emblem represents the Royal House of Anjou, from which eleven successive Kings of Jerusalem emerged. It is foundational to our legitimacy and continues as a living heraldic symbol under the House of Brunswick.
Brunswick Coat of Arms
The red lion and passant golden lions signify sovereignty claims rooted in the Duchy of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel. These arms have continuously expressed regency over Angevin and Jerusalem inheritance since the Middle Ages.
Jerusalem Cross
The quintuple cross symbol dates to the First Crusade and remains central to Christian knightly orders sworn to the protection of the Holy Land. Within our usage, it is held in continuity through ecclesiastical, dynastic, and chivalric succession.
